A Study of College Graduation Rates for Black Men and Women

A Study of College Graduation Rates for Black Men and Women

C’mon fellas. How can we as black men look our ladies in the eye on this one? It’s reasonable to expect that black women want to marry their match or beyond in terms of education, finances, or social stature. Though we’ve seen some progress over time, we still have some work to do before we can accuse African-American women of being too demanding.

The Successful Habits of African-American Millionaires

Interesting. I normally pride myself on operating under the radar, but Dennis Kimbro, author of Think and Grow Rich: A Black Choice, has figured me out…well almost. I imagine the bulk of Black millionaires are over 30, probably early 40′s, and embrace sports and golfing and tennis because they can’t move like they used to. Maybe they’re all family men and women, have or had positions of influence within a corporation, and left the hood so to speak; thus, subject to being under the influence of their Caucasian counterparts and suddenly love golf and tennis as sports.

McDonald’s, I Need a Job, But Can I Get 40 Hours With That?

McDonald’s, I Need a Job, But Can I Get 40 Hours With That?

I love McDonald’s…for all the wrong reasons. Their cheeseburgers are cheap, but include gobs of saturated fat the human tongue loves. McDonald’s fries are the best because they taste great and satisfy my appetite; however, those extra carbohydrates result in extra weight, increasing my risk for heart attacks and strokes. Never mind excessive salt that raises my blood pressure, I’m sure I’ll run that off after consumer my super-size combo meal. And who can deny an extra-large drink of soda for a dollar? Not me.

Are African-American Quarterbacks Only Athletes?

Are African-American Quarterbacks Only Athletes?

I have good news and not so good news. The good news is that Cam Newton, former Auburn NCAA football BCS Championship Quarterback, is ranked first to be drafted by NFL scout, Todd McShay, in the 2011 NFL draft. However, the not so good news is that NFL team owners, predominately Caucasian owners, are rumored to be hesitant to pick Newton because of his race.

How America Can Reduce Health Care Costs

How America Can Reduce Health Care Costs

Corporate retail pharmacy chains don’t pay a pharmacist for what he knows, but for how fast he can dispense medication without killing anyone.  Is McDonald’s really any different?  What’s a doctor without a prescription pad?  I have to pay $70 for 5 minutes and your signature!  C’mon now.  Neither physicians nor the American Medical Association [...]

The Solution to America’s Energy Conundrum

The Solution to America’s Energy Conundrum

Problem: America, along with the rest of the world, is dependent of fossil fuels. Unfortunately, fossil fuels pollute the environment, holds world markets hostage, and result in an estimated 140 billion in indirect health care costs due to respiratory ailments. Unfortunately, fossil fuels are also finite, meaning the world will run out of them eventually (est. 2040), which will only make burning them more expensive. Even worse is the fact that burning fossil fuels pollute the environment, which lead to respiratory ailments costing American tax payers an estimated 140 billion annually. With the threat of global warming and a disappearing ozone layer, planet earth is searching for a clean alternative fuel to power its future.

A Black businessman might think with another Black man in the highest office, The United States White House, that a Black business owner might receive his fair share of opportunities to compete for profitable government contracts.
